A hot week ahead! | Time

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB / WSHM) – We have a hot week ahead with temperatures hitting 70 degrees every day. Overall, our weather remains calm until the weekend …

After nearly 3 days of cloudy skies, we are getting a little clearing this evening and tonight. However, clouds increase during the night and fog develops early in the morning. Temperatures are expected to drop quickly in the 50s and maybe a few 40s above overnight, then we will return to around 50 by sunrise.

It may be some time before the fog clears Tuesday morning, but we should see partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Temperatures on Tuesday mostly hit low 70s with a light, variable breeze.

A high pressure peak persists over the east this week, allowing daily high temperatures to be around 10-15 degrees above normal through Friday! On the weather side, we won’t see much other than morning clouds and fog, then some afternoon sun. The breezes also remain light with a slight increase in a southerly breeze at the weekend. A weak disturbance at altitude can bring a showers or two Wednesday night and night, but we wouldn’t see much.

A powerful storm system is bringing snow to the west early this week and severe weather to the southern plains. The low with this system will move northeast through central Canada by Thursday, then over Hudson Bay by Saturday, swinging a cold front across New England. We are getting windy in front of this front and can see a period of rain on Saturday evening. Our weather tends to be more seasonal and quicker from Sunday to the start of next week.
